Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Mr. Sherlock Isaacs, A.A., Clerk of the National Assembly and Member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Association of Secretaries General of Parliament (ASGP), is attending the ASGP Plenary Meetings during the 150th IPU Assembly. The Assembly is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from April 4–9, 2025, with sessions taking place in the ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel.

The plenary meetings aim to address key topics, including Uzbekistan's parliamentary system by Mr. Qudrat Nurullaev, Secretary General of the Senate, under the theme: In the News and Innovations at Parliament.

Throughout the week, Mr. Isaacs will take part in general debates and informal discussion groups focused on critical issues such as:

• Training and development of parliamentary staff
• Engaging and meeting the expectations of young Parliamentarians
• Accessibility of parliamentary proceedings for persons with disabilities
• The use of precedents to preserve parliamentary memory
• Parliaments’ management of social media under the overarching theme: In the News and Innovations at Parliament

The ASGP, established in Oslo in 1939, serves as a consultative body of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. It fosters collaboration among holders of the Secretary-General's office in parliamentary assemblies worldwide, promoting dialogue, best practices, and mutual support.
