Bygeval Secondary School Youth Group advances to the Semi-finals of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2024

The Bygeval Secondary School Youth Group today recorded a resounding win against the Junior Chamber International Guyana (JCI) Youth Group in round two, match three of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2024.

The moot for this virtual debate was, “Artificial intelligence makes religion obsolete.”
Both groups, during this 9:30 a.m., in-person matchup, demonstrated their uncanny capability to articulate their well-reasoned positions on the moot.
The combined average scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, the Bygeval Secondary School Youth Group, 218 points, and 195 points for the Opposing side, the Junior Chamber International Guyana (JCI) Youth Group.
Mr. Ray Duncan of the Winning Bygeval Secondary School Youth Group copped the Best Debater award.
The semi-final matchups in the Speaker's National Youth Debating Competition are scheduled for June 7, 2024.
So far, the Bygeval Secondary School Youth Group has joined the Child Rights and the Helpful Hands Youth Groups for a place in the finals.
