Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group winners of match five round one in the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2024

The Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group defeated the Leguan Progressive Youth Organisation Youth Group in round one, match five, during the 9:30 a.m. virtual session of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2024.

Ms. Attiya Griffith of the winning Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group was awarded the Best Debater for this matchup.
The moot for this debate was, “Social media is detrimental to mental health.”
The combined scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, the Leguan Progressive Youth Organisation Youth Group, 179 (Average), and 188.5 points (Average) for the Opposing side, the Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group.
The competition continues today, with three more tantalizing matchups.
Eight of the Sixteen Teams that have qualified for the second round of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2024 will secure a spot in the 9th Annual Youth Parliament.
