Chinese Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Guyana, H.E. Guo Haiyan, on Thursday, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P. The meeting took place in the Speaker’s Chamber at the Public Buildings, Brickdam, Georgetown.
Discussions followed the trend of their first meeting in December 2021.
Those discussions dealt with the formation of a formal friendship group between the Parliament of Guyana and the National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China. The NPC is the highest organ of State power in China.
Both parties agreed on the importance of such bilateral relations between China and the Parliament of Guyana.
Third Secretary, Ms. Wang Qiuyi, attached to the Political Section at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, accompanied the Chinese Ambassador on her visit. Parliamentary Executive Assistant, Ms. Christina Ramroop, and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Yannick December, attached to the Parliament Office, were also present during the visit.
