Defending Champions Dethroned in Match Seven: Round One of the Speakers National Youth Debating Competition 2022

Angoy’s Avenue Youth Friendly Youth Space brought their A-game today as they dethroned the defending champions, Cummings Lodge Youth Movement, in match seven in the morning session of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2022.
The combined scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, Angoy’s Avenue Youth Friendly Youth Space, 261.3 points, and 253.3 points for the Opposing side, Cummings Lodge Youth Movement.
Their debate centered on the moot: Combating COVID-19 is an Individual Responsibility.

The Best Debater for match 7 was Ms. Latoya Bethune from the Angoy’s Avenue Youth Friendly Youth Space.
Both teams clashed last year in round one of the Inaugural Speakers National Youth Debating Competition.
