Golden OM Dharmic Youth Organisation and Young Professionals Youth Groups were victorious at the commencement of the 2nd Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition.

The Golden OM Dharmic Youth Organisation and Young Professionals Youth Group emerged winners in the first and second matches in round one of the second Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition.
The competition commenced today, April 8, 2022, and featured two matchups for the day.
For match one, the proposing team, Linden Superstars Youth Group debated against the opposing team Golden OM Dharmic Youth Group. Their debate was centered on the moot ‘A collective voice for Guyana’s Youth is Illusive.’
For Match two, the Proposing team, Young Professionals, squared off with the Opposing team, Mahdia Youth Group.
Their debate was centered on the moot ‘Driver’s License Should Not be Issued to Persons Under 21.’

On day one of the Debates, the Best Debaters were Mr. Karamchand Sugrim of The Golden Om Dharmic Youth Organisation and Ms. Dimple Basdeo of The Young Professionals Youth Group.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., moderated the competition and, during the morning session, encouraged those viewing online and in attendance to recite a silent prayer. This was in observance of the National Day of Fasting and Prayers, a declaration by His Excellency, Dr. Irfaan Ali.
The Debates will continue on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.
For the morning session, the Anna Regina Youth Group will debate against the Kast Talent Management followed by the Bartica Youth Group against Berbice Youth Development Youth Group in the afternoon session.
The 2nd Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition will be streamed live on the Parliament’s Website, Facebook, YouTube Pages, and on the National Communication Network (NCN)
