Incoming Chinese Ambassador pays courtesy call to Speaker of the National Assembly

Incoming Chinese Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Guyana, H.E. GUO Haiyan, today paid a courtesy call on Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., Speaker of the National Assembly. The meeting took place in the Speaker’s at the Public Buildings, Brickdam, Georgetown.
During the meeting, discussions sought to highlight issues of mutual interest aimed at maintaining strong relations between the two countries. This included the formation of a formal friendship group between the Parliament of Guyana and the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.
In addition, Speaker Nadir also emphasised the importance of such bilateral relations between China and the Parliament of Guyana and extended congratulations to the Ambassador on her appointment.

During her visit, the Chinese Ambassador signed the visitors’ book.
Third Secretary, Ms. Wang Qiuyi attached to the Political Section at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, accompanied the Chinese Ambassador on her visit. Parliamentary Executive Officer, Ms. Carletta Charles, attached to the Parliament Office was also present during the visit.
