A new Speaker of the National Assembly of the Twelfth Parliament of the Co-operative of Guyana was elected on 1st September, 2020.
Mr. Manzoor Nadir, the newly elected Speaker, who served as a Parliamentarian from the Sixth to the Tenth Parliament, was the only nominee for the position.
Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., was nominated by the Prime Minister, Hon. Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Anthony Phillips, M.S.S., M.P., and seconded by Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Hon. Gail Teixeira, M.P.
