The Port Kaituma Youth Group defeated the Famous Club Youth Group in match one for Region 1 during the morning session of the Speaker’s Regional Youth Debating Competition 2023.
The combined scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, Port Kaituma Youth Group, 181.3 points, and 129 points for the Opposing side, Famous Club Youth Group.
Their debate centered on the moot: “The incidents of human trafficking are increasing.”
The Best Debater for this matchup was Ms. Cassia Albert of the Port Kaituma Youth Group.
This morning's debate was the only match-up for Region 1.
