Region 4 & 6 Youth Groups advances to the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2023

The Enterprise Young Professionals Youth Group defeated the Cummings Lodge Youth Movement Youth Group in round four, match one for Region 4, during this morning’s session of the Speaker’s Regional Youth Debating Competition 2023.
Ms. Razia Alli of the Enterprise Young Professionals Youth Group copped the award for the Best Debater for this matchup.
The moot for this debate was, “Brain drain is no longer a problem in Guyana.”
The combined scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, the Cummings Lodge Youth Movement Youth Group, 178.6 (Average), and 201.6 points (Average) for the Opposing side, the Enterprise Young Professionals Youth Group.

For the second matchup for the morning session, the Golden Om Dharmic Youth Group defeated the Go Generation Youth Ministries Youth Group.
This was match one for the second round for Region 6.
The moot for this debate was, “Licence to operate electric bikes should not be mandatory.”
The combined scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, the Golden Om Dharmic Youth, 198.6 points (Average), and 128.9 points (Average) for the Opposing side, the Go Generation Youth Ministries Youth Group.
Ms. Nareema Alli from the Golden Om Dharmic Youth Group copped the award for Best Debater for this matchup.
The afternoon session between the Proposing Living Out Loud Youth Group and the Opposing Bartica Youth Group was postponed to 9.30 a.m., on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
The moot for that debate is “Alternative energy is too expensive to survive.”
