Speaker Nadir meets Co-Chair Lange at WTO Public Forum

Co-chairs of the Parliamentary Conference on the World Trade Organization (PCWTO) Hon. Manzoor Nadir, MP, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of Guyana, and Mr. Bernd Lange, Member of the European Parliament, met on the 29th September, 2021, at the WTO Public Forum held at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
During the meeting, the Co-chairs discussed the agenda of the PCWTO for the remainder of their term. Co-chair Lange disclosed that two webinars will be held in November for Inter-Parliamentary Union member Parliaments to exchange views on the challenges of trade to them, and that a meeting of the Steering Committee of the PCWTO will soon follow.
Hon. Speaker Nadir pointed out that some of the challenges will stem from trade issues related to vaccination competition and health, and climate change. These challenges, he noted, warrants more frequent meetings of the PCWTO.
The co-chairs expressed that they cherish the opportunity to work together and committed to meeting more frequently on how to improve on the work of the PCWTO
