During his address to the House, the Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., Speaker of the National Assembly of the Twelfth Parliament, welcomed returning and new Members to the National Assembly. He further promised to be impartial, fair and just, and expressed commitment to working with all sides for the betterment of the country.
Hon. Nadir extended his appreciation to the former Speaker, Dr. Barton U.A. Scotland, O.R., C.C.H., for his service to the Eleventh Parliament and people of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana. He also congratulated Mr. Shuman on being elected as Deputy Speaker.
