The Leguan Progressive Youth Group is victorious as the curtains open on the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2023.

The Leguan Progressive Youth Group defeated the Christianburg/Wismar Secondary School – Student Governing Body Youth Group in round one, match one, during this morning’s session of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2023.
The moot for this debate was, “Post-secondary education should be free.”

The debators during this virtual matchup demonstrated their ability to articulate well-researched arguments, challenge opposing viewpoints and engaged in respectful and constructive dialogue.
Mr. Mohendra Rambajue of the winning Leguan Progressive Youth Group copped the award for the Best Debater for this matchup.
The combined scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, the Christianburg/Wismar Secondary School – Student Governing Body Youth Group, 160 (Average), and 190 points (Average) for the Opposing side, the Leguan Progressive Youth Group.
The Speaker's National Debating Competition 2023 aims to foster a spirit of intellectual curiosity, encourage rigorous research, and promote respectful dialogue on a wide range of pressing topics.
