The Stage is set tomorrow for the Semi-final matchups for the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2024.

The anticipation is palpable as the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition reaches its semi-final stage. Tomorrow, Friday, June 7, 2024, the brightest young debaters from across the country will converge to showcase their skills, intellect, and eloquence in what promises to be a thrilling contest of wit and wisdom.

The first debate, commencing at 9:30 a.m., will feature the Bygeval Secondary Youth Group against the Helpful Hands Youth Group.
The moot for the debate is, “Financial Education should be mandatory in secondary schools in Guyana.”

In the second debate at 11 a.m., the Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group will debate against the University of Guyana Berbice Campus Orators’ Mastery Society Youth Group.
The moot for that debate is, “Artificial intelligence is a threat to democracy.”
Both debates will be held in the Chamber of the Public Building, Bickdam, Georgetown.
The winners of these matchups will advance to the grand finale, where they will compete for the prestigious title of National Youth Debating Champions 2024.
