Vacancies on the Opposition Bench filled in the National Assembly

At the 46th Sitting of the National Assembly of the Twelfth Parliament, held today in the Dome of the Arthur Chung Conference Centre ACCC, Mr. Aubrey Norton and Ms. Volda Lawrence took the Oath of Office before the National Assembly.
The Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Sherlock Isaacs, A. A., administered the Oath of Office.
During the afternoon recess, Members of the Opposition met to elect a new Opposition Leader.
Mr. Norton was subsequently nominated and elected to fill the post of Opposition Leader.
The Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., Speaker of the National Assembly, presided over the election process and congratulated the member on his appointment.
The new Members, Mr. Norton, and Ms. Lawrence were extracted from A Partnership for National Unity + Alliance for Change (APNU+AFC) list of candidates to fill the two vacancies in the National Assembly.
