The Young Influencers Youth Group defeated the Green Fingered Youth Environmental Club Youth Group in round one, match five, during the 3.30 p.m. session of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2023.
Ms. Saaya Prasad of the winning Young Influencers Youth Group was awarded the Best Debater for this matchup.

The moot for this debate was, “CXC school-based assessments should be eliminated.”
The combined scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, the Young Influencers Youth Group, 206 (Average), and 139.3 points (Average) for the Opposing side, the Green Fingered Youth Environmental Club Youth Group.
The competition will continue tomorrow, June 28, 2023, at 3 p.m. That matchup will be between the UGSS Turkeyen Campus Youth Group and the Golden Om Dharmic Youth Group.
Eight of the Sixteen Teams that have qualified for the second round of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2023 will secure a spot in the 8th Annual Youth Parliament.
