Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group Triumphs Over Youth Empowerment Network Youth Group in the Speaker’s Regional Youth Debating Competition 2025

The Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group emerged victorious against the Youth Empowerment Network in an electrifying fourth match of Round 1 for Region 4 in the Speaker’s Regional Youth Debating Competition 2025.
The debate commenced at 11 a.m. within the Chamber of the Public Buildings, Brickdam, Georgetown. It marked the fourth in-person clash for Region 4 and the second of three scheduled debates for the day. Both teams engaged vigorously on the thought-provoking moot: “There should not be one school curriculum for all Guyanese.” The audience, both in-person and online, alongside the distinguished panel of judges, were captivated by the compelling, well-researched arguments presented on both sides.
Leading the charge for the Child Rights Ambassadors was Ms. Eeshwari Lall, whose eloquent and persuasive delivery earned her the prestigious title of Best Debater for this round.
The Youth Empowerment Network, representing the Proposition side, secured an average score of 143.7 points. However, the Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group, standing as the Opposition team, clinched an impressive victory with an average score of 189.3 points.
With this triumph, the Child Rights Ambassadors Youth Group advances to the second round for Region 4, joining JCI Guyana, the University of Guyana Women in Law Association, and the Gen Advocates Youth Groups.
The Speaker’s Regional Youth Debating Competition continues to foster critical thinking, public speaking skills, and civic engagement among young people across Guyana.
