Georgetown, Guyana – Mr. Rolando Hugo Pocovi, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Guyana, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Honourable Manzoor Nadir, J.P., M.P., on March 19, 2026.

The meeting was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and held in the Speaker’s Chamber at Public Buildings, Brickdam, Georgetown.

The Speaker and Chargé d'Affaires exchanged pleasantries and engaged in cordial and fruitful discussions on issues of mutual interest. Primary among these discussions was a proposal to establish a Parliamentary Friendship Group between Guyana and Argentina. His Excellency expressed interest in facilitating reciprocal visits between the Parliaments of both countries.

Speaker Nadir welcomed the initiative.

On another note, he humorously offered to teach His Excellency Pocovi cricket.

Ms. Michelle Harper, Executive Assistant to the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Guyana, accompanied His Excellency.

Other attendees included Dr. Carlleta Charles, Parliamentary Executive Officer; Mr. Yannick December, Public Relations Officer; Mr. Etwaroo Jagernath, Sergeant-at-Arms; and Mr. Joshua Eastman, Production Technician.

The courtesy call ended with His Excellency signing the Speaker’s Guest Book.
