Day Two of Consideration of the 2025 Fiscal Year Estimates Sees Approval of Key Agency Allocations

LILIENDAAL, E.C.D., – February 3, 2025: The second day of the Consideration of the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year 2025 concluded today with the approval of line-item allocations for several critical agencies. The deliberations took place during the 98th Sitting of the National Assembly of the Twelfth Parliament, held at the Dome of the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC) in Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown, East Coast Demerara.
The House approved the Current and Capital Expenditure for the following agencies, ensuring their operational and developmental needs are met for the upcoming fiscal year:
· Parliament Office
· Audit Office of Guyana
· Public and Police Service Commissions
· Teaching Service Commission
· Guyana Elections Commission
· Supreme Court
· Public Prosecutions
· Office of the Ombudsman
· Public Service Appellate Tribunal
· Ethnic Relations Commission
· Judicial Service Commission
· Rights Commission of Guyana
· Public Procurement Commission
· Office of the President
· Guyana Defence Force
· Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs & Governance
· Office of the Prime Minister
· Ministry of Legal Affairs
· Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Co-operation
· Ministry of Amerindian Affairs
The Sitting was adjourned following a motion moved by the Honourable Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark A. Phillips, M.S.S., M.P., Prime Minister of Guyana.
The Consideration of the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year 2025 will resume tomorrow, February 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.
This process underscores the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the efficient allocation of resources to support national development and the well-being of all Guyanese citizens.
