The Parliamentary Sectoral Committees on Economic Services and Natural Resources, in keeping with their Work Programme for 2013, will be holding a joint meeting on Friday, 26th July, 2013, at 10.00 a.m., in the Parliament Chamber, Public Buildings, Brickdam.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive presentation from the Hon. Prime Minister, Mr. Samuel A.A. Hinds, and the Board of Management of the Guyana Power and Light Inc.(GPL), the Guyana Energy Agency (GEA), and the Hinterland Electrification Unit (HEU).

The Committees will seek to examine issues from a feasibility and viability standpoint, while scrutinizing the management of, and use of, the country’s natural resources.

The mandate of the Parliamentary Sectoral Committees on Economic Services and Natural Resources, in the discharge of their scrutinizing role, is to examine all policies and administration, in the Economic Services and Natural Resources Sectors, to determine whether the execution of government policy is in consonance with the principles of good governance and in the best interest of all the people of Guyana.
