His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Executive President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, is scheduled to address a Special Sitting of the National Assembly on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Ahead of the President’s address, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., will suspend the 86th Sitting to formally receive His Excellency. This Sitting will take place in the Dome of the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown.
This session marks the first Sitting of the National Assembly following its parliamentary recess, which began on August 10, 2024, and ends on October 10, 2024. The President’s speech is expected to set the tone for the continuation of Parliament’s work.
The upcoming address holds particular significance, as the last time His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali addressed the National Assembly was on February 11, 2021.
