Georgetown, Guyana – The Parliament of Guyana is proudly celebrating 10 years of youth involvement in shaping Guyana’s future, marking this milestone with a special awards ceremony to honour the dedication and contributions of the Youth Parliament alumni.

These awards recognise the outstanding commitment and impact of ten youths who have been part of the Youth Parliament journey, demonstrating leadership, service, and advocacy within their communities and beyond.

The ten awards being presented are:

1. Leadership Excellence Award – for exceptional leadership in organising initiatives and guiding peers within the Youth Parliament.
2. Community Impact Award – recognising significant contributions to community development through youth work and volunteer projects.
3. Advocacy Champion Award – for outstanding advocacy in youth rights and social change.
4. Innovative Solutions Award – recognising creative and innovative solutions to challenges faced by the Youth Parliament community.
5. Youth Mentor Award – for exceptional mentoring and support to other young people, fostering their leadership growth.
6. Collaboration and Teamwork Award – recognising excellence in teamwork and bringing diverse voices together to achieve shared goals.
7. Commitment to Service Award – for unwavering dedication to serving others within and outside of the Youth Parliament.
8. Trailblazer Award – for bold steps taken in youth work or activism, inspiring others to follow.
9. Resilience and Perseverance Award – recognising perseverance in the face of challenges while continuing to contribute to youth leadership and development.
10. Legacy Award – for a long-standing commitment that has left a lasting impact on the Youth Parliament.

These awards reflect the Parliament’s commitment to nurturing a generation of leaders who embody the values of service, innovation, and resilience, while ensuring youth voices remain a vibrant part of Guyana’s democratic process.
