Due to a miscalculation during the final preparation for the Speaker’s Annual Christmas Outreach Programme to St. Cuthbert’s Mission this morning, the Parliamentary Team was forced to return to the Parliament Office.
After the convoy departed the Office, it was discovered that more than half of the toys earmarked for that area was left behind.
The Outreach Programme has been rescheduled for Friday, December 17, 2021, when the children will receive their toys and party bags.
The Parliament Office apologies to the children and planning committee for this unfortunate occurrence and regrets any inconvenience caused.
This year, the Speaker's Christmas Outreach Programme aims to distribute toys to 8,500 children across Guyana.
