Round 2 of the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2025 Continues Tomorrow

Georgetown, Guyana – The Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2025 continues with Round 2 on Friday, June 13, 2025, showcasing the critical thinking and oratory skills of some of Guyana’s brightest young minds. The second round resumes with three dynamic debates, starting at 9:30 a.m.

The day's first matchup will see the Proposing Policy Forum Guyana Youth Group face off against the opposing Gen Advocates Youth Group, debating the thought-provoking moot:
“Developed countries have a responsibility to fight global poverty.”

At 11:00 a.m., the spotlight will shift to the University of Guyana Berbice Campus Orators’ Mastery Society, proposing against the Queen’s College Debate and Literacy Club on the moot: “Sanctions are an effective way to enforce international law.”

The day’s final debate begins at 2:00 p.m., where the New Life Youth Flame Youth Group will propose against the Ruimveldt Life Improvement Centre Youth Ministries Youth Group on the timely moot: “Cash grants to Guyanese are a sustainable method for wealth distribution.”
As part of its ongoing schedule, the competition will continue every Tuesday and Friday, offering a platform for youth across the country to engage in policy-based dialogue and public discourse.
